Southside Travellers – TASK Programme

We work with Traveller young people in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown area. We build relationships of trust and positivity through activities in a safe and supportive space which build the capacity of Traveller young people to actively engage in decision making and ownership.

TASK is a QQI Level 4 in Employment Skills programme that is based in Southside Travellers Action Group. The aim of the TASK programme is to train and educate young Travellers and their settled counterparts in South Dublin. This programme provides a range of learner–centred training modules to young adults aged 16-35 years of age. This programme also supports and develops young people in order to progress to further education/training or employment.

This QQI Level 4 programme is made up of 9 modules, which include Team working, Information Technology Skills, Customer Service, Work Experience, Career Planning, Functional Mathematics, Communications, Understanding Inter-culturalism and Personal and Interpersonal Development. On completion of all 9 modules learners will receive a Full Major Award in Employment Skills, QQI Level 4 and this Award is equivalent to the Leaving Certificate in mainstream education.
